Jeff Dewit Commits Felony – Openly Violates AZ Law in Bribery Scheme

Documented evidence including emails, draft agreement, audio recording, and first hand witness account prove AZGOP Chair Jeff Dewit has committed a class 4 felony and is openly violating Arizona Law in a bribery scheme designed to create more division of the Republican Party. This was corroborated by a first hand witness and admitted by Candace Czarny in an email.

Arizona Revised Statutes Title 13. Criminal Code § 13-2602. Bribery of a public servant or party officer;  classification

A. A person commits bribery of a public servant or party officer if with corrupt intent:

1. Such person offers, confers or agrees to confer any benefit upon a public servant or party officer with the intent to influence the public servant’s or party officer’s vote, opinion, judgment, exercise of discretion or other action in his official capacity as a public servant or party officer; or

2. While a public servant or party officer, such person solicits, accepts or agrees to accept any benefit upon an agreement or understanding that his vote, opinion, judgment, exercise of discretion or other action as a public servant or party officer may thereby be influenced.

B. It is no defense to a prosecution under this section that a person sought to be influenced was not qualified to act in the desired way because such person had not yet assumed office, lacked jurisdiction or for any other reason.

C. Bribery of a public servant or party officer is a class 4 felony.

On December 19, 2023 at 11:10:23 PM MST, AZGOP Member-at-Large Merissa Hamilton sent an email referencing a document titled the “LD3 Peace Accord”. Hamilton was acting as the broker in this deal, which AZGOP Chair later called by phone to push for and offer the bribe. That call was recorded.

In open and direct violation of statute, Jeff Dewit illegally proposes two official Legislative District 3s.

AZGOP 3rd Vice Chair Gina Swoboda has written a report condemning the recent Jeff Dewit and AZGOP power grabs saying:

“I made these votes based on policy, process and rule of law as I see it. If the state party is going to make itself a unilateral command and control structure wielding authority over every level of the party from PC to LD to County we are dangerously close to becoming the thing we say we are seeking to protect ourselves from. There will come a day when the people filling the roles that these resolutions sought to give broad powers to are not in agreement with any one of us. This type of authority once given is always used and it is eventually used against the people it sought to protect.“

“This calls for AZGOP to intervene in LD and County disputes…This also creates a committee to police activities of PCs….This exceeds the authority delegated to the state party.”

“This would establish a precedent that the state party can order transfer of funds from LDs or County committees The state party has no authority to take disciplinary action against an LD.”

“This is in conflict with 16-822. The authority to fill a PC vacancy rests solely with the county party chair. “

“This creates another committee empowered to take disciplinary action across all levels of authority PC LD County. This exceeds state party authority. This could easily be abused to target people with different views. I object to seating this kind of power in a selected group at the top of any command structure.”

Dewit Secretly and Improperly Appoints CD4 MAL to Elected Position

Several months ago, AZGOP CD4 Member at Large Kelly Cooper resigned from his elected position. DeWit did not call for an election or even inform the board. Instead, he improperly appointed Diane Ortiz Parsons because she “had the next highest number of votes”. Elected, voting members like MALs cannot be appointed in this way.

His name was invoked several times in support of delay, and then Jeff appeared at the next MCBOS meeting and spoke in favor of a new policy and form which violates statute and results in more government interference into private party matters. At that meeting the PC Appointments were REJECTED.

In Legislative District 3, Candace Czarny never was and is not the LD3 Chair. In addition to proven and documented election bylaw and rules violations, Candace’s election had documented and irrefutable proof that at least one PC captain instructed their PCs to commit proxy fraud (which was then witnessed and attested to). These fraudulent proxies were then voted in the election meaning ELECTION FRAUD! Jeff DeWit called me and threatened to sue me for speaking about his corrupt activities

“Jeff DeWit called me and threatened to sue me for speaking about his corrupt activities. I told him he had no case because I am protected under political speech and free speech and he is in a public position. His claim that he spent $75,000 on court and successfully defeated the patriot party is not true, there were no receipts that he spent $75,000 on court/legal costs and NO court records showing he did this. His comeback was ‘I didn’t do it in court, I have been working very closely with the Secretary of State’.

He asked me who had told me that he used his personal commercial real estate license to lease off half of the GOP 3rd floor space. I told him his employee Lori Bango had told me this, the one he pays $2000 a month ‘for consulting services’. He asked me if I had bothered to confirm her statement. Why would I need to verify what she told me? She works as your consultant so there was no reason to doubt her. Then he said I was threatening his real estate license by questioning who got the commission for the lease of that space. Then he denied he had a real estate license. I mean seriously, what’s the truth here?

I told him that he needed to back off from me and that I am not even the one heading the effort to remove him. His response was ‘well your supporting it’. Last I heard it was each American and PC to support whatever they politically choose to support AND that we are free to do this without receiving a threatening and intimidating phone call from Jeff DeWit, GOP chair. Seriously, it’s another egregious example of his gross dereliction of duties. He is GOP chair, he is supposed to represent the Republican Party, not call and threaten its members with baseless claims.

That phone call went on for almost an hour. Him yelling at me and condescending me with his higher than thou attitude. Yet every single time I called him out on his lies, he had no shame and simply reversed his direction to justify himself.”

It is time for the disgraced Jeff DeWit to step down

“Many of us have been dismayed & shocked by not only the lack of leadership by AZGOP Chairman Jeff DeWit but by his outright abusive and hostile behavior to substantial numbers of our Republican Party. It does raise questions as to who he actually believes he is working for. It raises questions about his integrity, loyalty, judgement & sincerity. Nick Ivory, his Executive Assistant,(and who was Jim Lamon’s Campaign Manager), and Jim Lamon tell me DeWit is working for Ron DiSantis and that he and Lamon (as well as Establishment figures like Nancy Ordowski & Bob Hathorne (who have been working with DeWit) ridiculously do not believe fraud is a problem with our elections. They do, as part of a larger group of the Old Guard, not think Donald Trump & Kari Lake were good candidates, partially because of THEIR calling attention to the massive corruption of our elections. Massive amounts of evidence has been presented by EXPERTS IN PUBLIC FORUMS, which I personally took the time to attend so I would know the TRUTH. AND I do not remember any of these individuals I have mentioned, especially Jeff DeWit & Jim Lamon being present. They have chosen either to ignore the Truth – it block the Truth. So are there hidden schemes behind DeWit’s inexcusable, inexplicable actions, not only in the present crisis, but since he has been elected. Does he think the backing of old members of the Party who scheme with him and scheme against the rest of We the People (as we see in their sick & unprincipled struggle for power in LD3, for example) – that they can protect him from the growing wrath of an abused & betrayed citizenry?
